My Tribute: My brother was a great man; he just had a lot of demons. To know him was to love him. There wasn’t a person alive he couldn’t make smile. He sadly did not father any children because he did not want to pass on his kidney disease, selfless, but he treated any child as his own. Protected, cared for, heard and understood. When our dad left, I was very young and my brother, being 11 years older than I, stepped into our father’s place. He became not only my brother, my best friend, but also my father figure. Everyone could see, I was like a mini version of him and how much we loved each other. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of him. I hear him on a windy day and the trees are talking to me, I see him when the sun sets. He’s there when I’m lying with our dog, Rocky (his best friend). He lives on in our laughter and our tears. We miss him every day that we go without him in our lives…
