My Tribute: We lost Jake on November 19, 2017 after approximately 10 year struggle with substance abuse and mental illness. Jake sustained a C 4 fracture at the age of 14 and was prescribed high doses of morphine, MS contin to be exact, and so began the spiral of addiction, seemingly experimental use at first and later to discover the Bi polar component of his disease at age 18. Suicide attempt at age 18, multiple times in treatment for addiction; successful sober living stays; successful in school and with work and one needle stick later he is gone. Still awaiting toxicology reports. He is a beautiful loving soul; kind, open and available to others…of course there are things I wish I had done differently but I know, we, all who loved hime, did our best. Love and miss you buddy.
