Why is this group different than other grief support groups for those who have lost children or loved ones? Listen and learn. Christie’s veto of Good Samaritan bill is target of overdose victim advocates

 At age 26, Sal Marchese of Gloucester Township was fighting his illness, and he was winning. But he couldn’t keep up the fight on his own.

In 2010, he’d been receiving treatment for 11 days before he learned state funding had run dry.

“They called me up and said, ‘You need to come pick him up,’” Marchese’s mother, Patty DiRenzo recalled. Disappointed but undaunted, DiRenzo set out to bring Sal back to their home in the township’s Blackwood section, and again stand by her son in his recovery.
